JFL42

Date(s): 2024 dates TBD
Location: Venues throughout Toronto

Toronto has long had a reputation as a comedy capital that gives locals and visitors alike a fast track to the laugh track, so it should be no surprise the city has a robust comedy festival in JFL42. An offshoot of the popular Montreal-based fest founded in 1983, Toronto’s Just For Laughs Comedy Festival brings together some of the biggest names in the biz with eight headliners that run the gamut from John Mulaney to Pete Davidson to Trevor Noah.

That said, 42 other acts tap some of the next big comedians from Canada and beyond, including Deanne Smith, Cassie Cao, Leonard Chan, Chanty Marostica and others. Sets occur at venues across the city, including Scotiabank Arena, the Garrison and the Rivoli Theatre.

JFL42 passes can be purchased just for headliners or the 42 other comedians, and comedy fans should check the age restrictions of each venue ahead of time, as some require audience members to be 19 years or older for entry.
