Empress of Canada Cruises offers lunch and evening dinner cruises and Toronto Harbour Tours offers frequent boat tours where you can get off and explore the Toronto islands by foot then catch a return trip anytime later in the day.

Toronto Bicycle Tours is a great option for all ages and enables you to explore the heart of downtown or unique areas like The Beaches and The Belt Line (including The Evergreen Brick Works and Wychwood Barns).

By bus

Two main companies offer hop-on, hop-off double-decker bus tours around Toronto.

City Sightseeing Toronto lets you choose from over 24 official stops and the ticket is valid for up to seven days (as well as Niagara). Gray Line Toronto also offers excursions to Niagara and Ottawa in addition to tours of Toronto.

On foot

Heritage Toronto runs a range of walking tours (and a few bike and bus tours, too) from April to October. So whether you’re interested in learning more about Toronto’s architecture, exploring natural heritage or hearing stories of our diverse city and its past, there a Heritage Toronto tour for you.

Bruce Bell, one of Toronto’s most respected historians, walks you through the city’s past. Toronto Greeters is a free service where Torontonians show visitors points of interest and their favourite Toronto spots. 

Offered May through September, Toronto Architecture Tours allow you to see and learn about some of Toronto’s most significant architecture. Highlights include contemporary buildings by outstanding local and international architects that have enhanced Toronto’s streets and neighbourhoods while transforming the city.

The Tour Guys offer many free public walking tours in the summer as well as tours themed around beer, bacon, graffiti, ghosts, death and disasters. Stroll popular neighbourhoods like Kensington Market, the beautiful waterfront or historic Old Town Toronto.

A variety of guides are available through the Canadian Tour Guide Association of Toronto. Private or group tours can be conducted in a range of languages including English, French, German, Dutch, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, Italian and Persian (Farsi). Offers meet and greet and step-on guides.
