Tips for seamless business travel to Canada

  • A customs broker can help prepare documentation and take advantage of Canadian tax incentives for international events held in Canada.
  • Register your event with the Canada Border Services Agency to aid the transfer of materials across borders, and with Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada’s Special Events Unit, to assist border crossing for international, visa-required travellers.
  • Educate attendees to travel with a valid passport, conference and hotel details and enough money to cover their stay and return journey.
  • Visa-exempt foreign nationals (excluding U.S. citizens) must apply online for an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA), ideally prior to booking their flight to Canada.
  • Visa-required foreign nationals must submit fingerprints and a photo (biometrics) to acquire their visa for travel to Canada.
