Every year, Toronto hosts more than 1,500 corporate gatherings and hundreds of major events each year. Here are some of this year's standouts.

Toronto’s 2026 event lineup is packed. Yes, FIFA World Cup 2026 is coming this summer. The city will also host a dynamic roster of conferences, meetings and major events throughout the year, drawing industry leaders from across sectors and visitors from around the world. Here are a few that are on our radar.

Society of Interventional Radiology Annual Scientific Meeting: April 11–15, 2026

The interventional radiology community—ranging from trainees, researchers, seasoned physicians and industry leaders—will gather at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre (MTCC) this April for their Annual Scientific Meeting. Colleagues will share the cutting-edge research, participate in hands-on learning and listen to thought leaders from around the world.

International Society for Heart and Lung Transplantation Annual Meeting: April 22–25, 2026

The MTCC will play host to the International Society for Heart and Lung Transplantation Annual Meeting this April. The 46th iteration of this annual event is expected to welcome more than 4,000 delegates. Planned sessions include preventing cancer in the immunosuppressed and how differences in cultural, legislative and consent dynamics influence donor lung availability.

 

First Nations Major Projects Coalition Conference: April 29–May 1, 2026

The 9th annual First Nations Major Projects Coalition Conference is coming to downtown Toronto’s Sheraton Centre this spring. Over 1,800 delegates from Indigenous Nations, government, industry and finance will gather to share knowledge on how Indigenous principles and leadership can help guide the country’s path forward for the next several generations.

Toronto Tech Week: May 25–29, 2026

Toronto Tech Week is not a traditional conference. It’s an open platform for anyone to join or host in-person events to showcase Toronto’s tech community. Last year, there were more than 300 independent events hosted, covering topics from Canada’s place in the artificial intelligence (AI) revolution to women leadership in the tech space to group hackathons and much more.

Rendez-vous Canada: May 26–29, 2026

The country’s signature international tourism event, Rendez-vous, is happening at the MTCC this May. International travel trade—agents, tour operators, destination marketing organizations, etc.—will connect with Canada’s tourism industry one-on-one with pre-scheduled appointments.

 

Toronto Climate Week: June 1–7, 2026

Toronto Climate Week is back for a second year. Last year, more than 100 events took place across the city that ranged from an upcycling clothing workshop and environmental-inspired stand-up comedy to an “are you smarter than an eighth grader about climate change” trivia night and a climate startup dinner club. The 2026 iteration is promising to be even bigger and better.

FIFA World Cup: June 11–July 19, 2026

The international sporting event on everyone’s minds this year is the FIFA World Cup, which will take place in Canada, the U.S. and Mexico. Toronto will host six games throughout the tournament and expects to welcome over 300,000 visitors to the city from around the world.

World’s Poultry Science Association Congress: July 13–17, 2026

Come July, the 27th iteration of the World’s Poultry Science Association Congress will set up shop at the MTCC. Poultry scientists, industry leaders, academics and students will come together to discuss the latest in the industry. Keynotes include Dr. Suresh Raja Neethirajan from Halifax’s Dalhousie University and Cheryl Stroud, executive director of One Health Commission.

 

YMCA World Council: July 19–25, 2026

Over 1,000 YMCA leaders, staff, volunteers and partners will unite this July at the Sheraton Centre. The program for this year’s YMCA World Council will explore how to transform our communities and will include a presentation on the YMCA Canada’s national carbon footprint evaluation legacy project. Added programming bonus: a World Cup finale viewing party!

Annual International Conference of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society: July 26–30, 2026

This year, the Annual International Conference of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society is taking place at the MTCC. Thousands of attendees will converge in Toronto to share groundbreaking research, explore emerging trends and engage with a community of experts.

 

Corporate Event Marketing Association Summit: August 9–11, 2026

This August, the Corporate Event Marketing Association will gather in Toronto, marking only the second time the summit has taken place outside the U.S. Past event sessions have included planning multisensory experiences that stick and using AI tools to work differently. They always include fun into their programming, too. Think: goat yoga, a charcuterie-making class and more.

Canadian Meetings and Events Expo: August 11–12, 2026

Canadian Meetings and Events Expo, the largest and longest-running trade show for meeting and event professionals, returns to the MTCC this August. Network with Canadian, American and international destinations, world-class venues, tech companies, decor suppliers and more.

International Downtown Association Annual Conference and Marketplace: September 1–3, 2026

It seems fitting that the International Downtown Association Annual Conference and Marketplace will take place in Toronto, the birthplace of the world’s first Business Improvement Area. Over 1,300 guests will convene and discuss emerging trends in place management.

 

TIFF: The Market: September 10–16, 2026

Taking place during the world-renowned Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), the MTCC will host its first-ever TIFF: The Market in September. During the event, there will be more than 650 market screenings to connect film buyers and distributors with independent filmmakers.

Mpact Transit and Community Conference: September 14–17, 2026

The Sheraton Centre will be the home base for this year’s Mpact Transit and Community Conference. More than 60 conference sessions and 25 mobile workshops will cover topics ranging from station, street and corridor design to land use and community development.

 

World Congress of the World Association for Infant Mental Health: October 2–6, 2026 

This fall, the World Association for Infant Mental Health will host its World Congress in Toronto at the Sheraton Centre. The 19th annual event invites infant and early-childhood mental health experts from across the globe to come together to foster collaboration on an international stage.

 

Joint Americas Committee for Treatment and Research in Multiple Sclerosis (ACTRIMS) and European Committee for Treatment and Research in Multiple Sclerosis (ECTRIMS) Meeting: October 21–23, 2026

Every three years, ACTRIMS and ECTRIMS join forces to host a meeting to share knowledge and advance the field of MS and related disorders. The 2026 event will take place at the MTCC  and will include accredited sessions where participants can earn continuing-education credits.
