Lisa is a freelance journalist who grew up in Toronto. Her work has appeared in The Globe and Mail, Toronto Star, The Independent UK, Saveur, CAA Magazine and more. Before pivoting to journalism, she was a senior policy advisor for the Ontario Ministry of Indigenous Affairs and an HIV/AIDS policy advisor for the Ontario Ministry of Health. In both roles, she worked closely with communities on diversity, equity and inclusion issues. She holds a Master of Social Work from the University of Toronto in the field of social justice and diversity.
