Meet Toronto Insider: Santee Siouxx

"There are so many things I love about the city. Nowhere else can make me feel the way Toronto makes me feel."

Indigenous social media content creator Santee Siouxx enjoys celebrating Indigenous worldview and identity with her followers. Growing up in Dakota Tipi and Wikwemikong, she is proud to call Toronto her home away from home.

Santee Siouxx is passionate about inspiring others to have shared lived Toronto experiences, whether visiting short-term or making the move long-term. She believes Toronto is a multicultural city that everyone can enjoy!

Santee Siouxx's Top Toronto Picks

Favourite Toronto neighbourhood: Kensington Market, because it's home to the Pow Wow café. They serve my favourite Indian Tacos! Yum!

Secret Toronto spot: Iconic Toronto skyline views at Jennifer Kateryna Koval’s’kyj Park. Also known as the Polson Pier skyline view, the park is located at the very end of Polson St.

What should someone buy for the ultimate Toronto souvenir? Indigenous jewelry and art. Hundreds of incredibly talented Indigenous artists live and work in Toronto and all over Ontario. Small markets and gift shops will have local art. When looking for any First Nations art, ensure you are shopping for locally made products, not imported goods produced in a factory.
