What is your favourite WFH accessory?

My LED keyboard. It adds a little spice to my office setup!

Tell us about your most memorable trip

My most memorable trip was a last minute trip to Cuba with my sisters and my best friend. We booked the flight on Wednesday and travelled on Friday. It was the first trip my sisters and I took without our family and it was a perfect time to defrost (from Canada’s winter).

What’s your favourite season in Toronto, and why?

Favorite season is summer! I love the heat and everyone is always outside and lively. Even when there is nothing to do you can always go to a park/beach and hang out with friends or enjoy a good book!

Jose Antonio Santoyo Llamas

Job Title: Director of Industry & Partner Relations

Do you prefer working from home or working at the office?

I really like working at the office. I feel there is a better opportunity to engage with the rest of the team and develop relationships that go beyond the projects we are working on. Getting to know people creates a better environment for innovation and creativity.

In 2014 I was sent on a work mission to Myanmar (Burma) for 3 months. While I was there, one weekend, we got some scooters and departed from Yangon to Naypyidaw (the new capital). Our objective was to find the white elephants at the Uppatasanti Pagoda. It was a full 5-day adventure. I met a good Canadian friend during that trip, and eventually, he is the one who recommended me for the position that brought me here. I guess the adventure is still on…

What’s your favourite season in Toronto, and why?

Winter! I enjoy the cold. Growing up we could see snow one or two days a year, but nothing crazy. Being able to enjoy the snow and all the activities around the cold days is fascinating for me.

Cherisse Ebanks

Job Title: Graphic Designer

Do you prefer working from home or working at the office?

I would have to say working from home! I am a natural homebody and nothing can beat the quick commute from my bed to my computer or the joy of wearing sweatpants all day everyday.

What road trip can you simply not get enough of?

The drive from Banff, AB to Jasper, AB! It is absolutely beautiful and I was in awe driving through the mountains. I did the drive in a day with a couple of friends and I found a guide that provided stops along the way where we could pull off the highway to see even better views of mountains, lakes, waterfalls and glaciers. I would do it again in a heartbeat!

Tell us about the best Toronto experience you’ve had this year

I have a bunch of younger cousins and decided to do a 'Cousinsfest' cousins weekend with them in August. I learned about the Museum of Illusions while working on the Travel Trade master presentation. It seemed cool and unique and something they'd all enjoy so I took the 7 of them downtown on the Go train and we went to the museum. They loved it! It was a great day filled with laughter, they still talk about it and can't wait for the next Cousinsfest!
